For years, players chose between the protection of a hard case and the portability of a gig bag. The semi-hard case removes that trade-off.
A semi-hard case uses a rigid inner shell — typically molded ABS or compressed wood — wrapped in a fabric or leather exterior. The result is hard-case-level protection against impacts, at roughly gig-bag weight. The rigid shell protects the guitar’s body, neck and headstock from crushing forces, while the soft exterior feels premium and carries branding beautifully.
Most semi-hard cases include 20-30mm of foam between the shell and the exterior, plus plush interiors, adjustable neck rests and reinforced headstock areas. They are increasingly the default choice for mid-range and premium guitar bags.
We manufacture semi-hard guitar cases in PU leather, tweed and microfiber finishes. OEM/ODM available with custom shell thickness, foam density and brand graphics.
