5 Questions Every Guitar Brand Should Ask Before OEM Production

Brands come to us every month with a great idea for a guitar bag or case line. The ones that go smoothly all asked the same five questions before ordering. Here they are.

1. What Materials Do You Actually Use?

Ask for the exact fabric and hardware spec: denier count, coating, zipper brand, strap hardware. “Premium PU leather” means different things from factory to factory. Get the spec sheet in writing, and ask for material samples.

2. What Does a Sample Look Like and When Can I Get It?

Sampling is the cheapest mistake you can make early. Confirm the sample timeline (ours is typically 7–10 days for modifications to existing designs), whether the sample matches production materials exactly, and what changes are free before sampling starts.

3. How Is Quality Controlled?

Ask about inspection points: incoming material checks, in-line inspection during sewing, and final random inspection before packing. Find out what happens to defective units and who pays return freight on a bad batch.

4. What Is the Real Lead Time?

Get lead time in writing, including the production window and shipping time. Add buffer for your own schedule. A factory that promises 15 days and ships in 40 will disrupt your launch plan.

5. What Are the Packaging and MOQ Terms?

Confirm MOQ per design and per color, and how packaging is handled — poly bag only, or retail-ready boxes. Small details like hang tags and barcode stickers affect your retail readiness.
