Not every instrument fits a standard case. Semi-hollow guitars, extended-range basses, vintage offsets and double-neck models all need custom interiors. Foam carving solves this.
How it works. High-density polyurethane foam is layered inside a hard case or bag shell, then CNC-carved or hand-shaped to match the exact contour of the instrument. The foam cradles the body, protects the neck and keeps the instrument from shifting in transit.
Design considerations. Measure the instrument at multiple points — body width at upper and lower bouts, body depth, headstock angle. Account for tremolo units, strap buttons and tuner clearance. Plush lining is applied over the carved foam to protect the finish.
When custom interiors are worth it. For high-value instruments, signature models and odd shapes, custom foam is the only way to get true protection. It also adds perceived value to a premium product line.
We offer custom case development with CNC foam carving and molded interiors. Send your instrument drawings or a sample and our engineers will build the interior around it.
