Keyboard Case Sizing: 61 vs 76 vs 88 Key and How to Match

Keyboard cases look similar but sizing is unforgiving – a 76-key instrument will not fit a 61-key case, and 88-key weighted keyboards are significantly deeper. Here is a practical sizing guide.

The Three Sizes That Matter

  • 61-key: roughly 40 x 18 x 5 inches interior
  • 76-key: roughly 48 x 18 x 5.5 inches
  • 88-key: roughly 52-56 x 20 x 8 inches (weighted actions are deep)

Why Depth Matters

Weighted hammer-action keyboards are thicker at the back. A shallow case forces the lid to bow. Always spec depth generously – add 1-2 inches of headroom.

Bag vs Hard Case for Keyboards

Padded gig bags cover the 61-key and most 76-key markets. 88-key weighted boards usually justify a hard case, especially for stage use.

Our keyboard line covers all three sizes in padded bags and hard cases with custom interior die-cut foam.
