MOQ (minimum order quantity) is the first number buyers negotiate. Understanding why factories set MOQs helps you negotiate better.
Why MOQs exist
Every production run has fixed costs: material cutting, molds, setup and QC. A factory needs enough units to cover these. Below that, unit cost jumps.
Typical guitar case MOQs
- Stock designs: 100-200 pieces.
- Custom color: 300-500 pieces.
- Custom mold (OEM): 500-1000 pieces or tooling fee.
How to reduce MOQ
- Choose ODM stock designs with logo only — lowest MOQ.
- Mix colors in one order.
- Pay tooling cost separately and reduce MOQ.
- Combine items (cases + straps + bags) into one order.
We keep MOQs flexible and share real numbers per design. See OEM/ODM terms or ask for current MOQs.
