Guitar straps look similar but feel and wear very differently. The material choice changes comfort, durability and price.
Genuine leather
Comfortable, ages well, premium. Heavier and more expensive. Needs break-in and care.
Nylon / webbing
Strong, colorful, cheap. Less stretch, more slide on the shoulder. Standard for student and gig straps.
PU leather
Looks like leather, costs less, easy to clean. Good mid-price option that holds color well.
Suede and fabric
Grippy on the shoulder, great for stage use. Patterns and prints are easy to apply.
