Certifications are how buyers verify factory quality and material safety. Here is what the common ones mean for guitar cases and gig bags.
ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is a quality management standard. It does not certify a product — it certifies that the factory has a documented, repeatable quality system. For OEM/ODM buyers this means consistent output across orders.
REACH
REACH regulates chemicals in products sold in the EU. For fabric, foam and hardware in guitar cases, REACH compliance confirms restricted substances stay within limits.
Other certificates buyers ask for
- CE: relevant for certain accessories and electrical parts.
- RoHS: for electronic components (e.g. tuners, cables).
- Prop 65: California labeling for chemicals.
- Test reports: third-party lab reports on specific materials.
What to request
Ask your supplier for certificates plus the scope and validity date — an expired or out-of-scope certificate is worth little. See our certifications page and contact us for document copies.
